FAQ

Do you have a question? See if you can find the answer below:

Giclée fine art printing

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE OF A GICLEE / FINE ART PRINT FROM A REGULAR PRINT?

+

A regular digital or offset print, such as a poster or a flyer, will be printed on an inkjet or offset printer using the four-color method. The colors Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black are used in the form of tiny dots to create the image.

Giclée printing uses more colors (up to 12) – pigments, which means you can get better color accuracy. Giclée prints are often printed on certified papers that prevent degradation and yellowing, ensuring prints stay sharp and bright for years to come.

WHAT SIZES AND FORMATS ARE AVAILABLE FOR GICLEE PRINTS?

+

You can order printing in large or small format. Standard formats are available in the price list or you can choose your own format for individual printing. The maximum size available for your art print is 300 x 110 cm.

HOW MANY PIECES SHOULD I PRINT?

+

Galleries, artists and photographers offer their reproductions in limited editions. Most often, 10-100 giclée prints are made within one closed series. The artist himself decides what number of works he wants to print and in what sizes.

WHAT ARE THE TIME FOR PRINTOUTS?

+

Typically, printing takes place within 2-5 business days of receiving the files. For larger orders (over 100 items), the date is agreed individually.

Prepare files

HOW TO PREPARE A FILE FOR PRINTING?

+

File type: We only accept flat TIFF (uncompressed) or JPG files (maximum quality: 12).
Resolution: The file is best prepared in Adobe Photoshop at a resolution of 360 ppi (pixel / inch). The file for printing should be prepared in a 1: 1 scale in centimeters.
Colors: due to the greater range of colors, RGB (sRGB space) 16 or 8 bit should be set.
Margin: If you want your work to have white margins around your print, you must add them to the file or inform us before printing.

HOW CAN I SEND YOU A FILE?

+

Files weighing up to 10 mb can be sent to us by e-mail to the following address: print@abstractink.pl

Files over 10 mb can be sent to us via the website wetransfer.com
